Fabrics are probably from the 1940s and 1950's, some even older possibly. It is in very good condition without any stains at all.
The backing is a cotton material with a blue r floral design all over. The edges have been finished with a blanket stitch to inside and then machine stitched hem to the material. The rest of the quilt seems to be made by hand-stitching. There are different fabrics used throughout the quilt to form a chain of 4 point stars.
I tried to photograph up close so you can appreciate the precision work in this quilt and all the old varied textiles. There are about 5 blowouts.
Fabric patches that give out because of age. Most of these I noticed are the solid yellows and easy to repair. I photographed examples of these up close. Use photos to guide you. The bottom hem at one point, too, has split at the weakened with age edge fold. I photographed this up close. This could be repaired with a slip stitch. It doesn't really show on display. Comes from a smoke free home. Guaranteed vintage and guaranteed lovely. I like the summery colors of this quilt along with the subdued fabric patch color choices! Note: for reference, the quilt was photographed on top of a California king sized bed.
It covers the top almost completely. Each star shape measures about 6" by 6".
