This listing includes FREE UK P&P. This is a really pretty floral patchwork quilt, completely reversible the two sides are distinctly different yet match rather well. One side has a pale natural green leafy background with stunning large pink roses and the other is made up of stripes of various colour backgrounds with multi colour floral prints, two green based, one sky blue, two different cream grounds and a brown one with yellow flowers. The fabrics are all very soft and there is a layer of soft wadding between them giving it weight and texture. Home sewn using a sewing machine. It was made about 30 years ago using remnants of fabric left over from home-made curtains. The fabrics used were new then, off cuts rather than it being made from old curtains. The lady who made it was the go-to family member at the time for everyone's new curtains and the fabrics, though different patterns, are all the same weight and quality of fabric. Probably the same make of fabric even just with different designs. It would make a wonderful display in any vintage bedroom, giving the feel of a much older vintage quilt and would look equally good as a throw over on a comfy arm chair or sofa. I can see it looking really lovely with some chalk-painted furnishings. I had it layed out on the top of a double bed which looked really attractive but if it was on a single bed it would cover it completely, down the sides as well, like an old fashioned bedspread. It even lays quite nicely diagonally of just at the foot end of a king-size bed.
