Finished and signed in 1952 by Phyllis A. Wells who lived on Church Hill Rd. I point that out in my last photo. The patchwork is hand stitched; the pink border is machine stitched, and the edging was sewn onto the outer edge of the back of the quilt by machine, folded over onto the top, and then hand stitched down.
It has no fiberfill batting -- maybe just a layer of cotton cloth inside. The backing and the edging are the same cotton percale as used on the front. The quilting pattern shows well on the back although it's hard to discern in my photo. Mainly I wanted to show that the backing is clean. This is a very nice quality vintage quilt for a twin bed.
