VINTAGE HAND MADE QUILT Joseph's Chain / Fabrics reminescent of 1845-1865 era

  

In addition, we are listing, where noted, quilts from my wife's Mother and Grandmother. All the quilts have been verbally appraised by a very knowledgeable certified appraiser as to condition and description. These Quilts are excellent examples of our uniquely American vanishing art form. This particular quilt was built by my Grandmother, and we believe it is a Joseph's Chain style, using red and green fabrics reminiscent of the 1845 to 1865 era. The quilt was probably completed by my Grandmother in the mid to late 1950's.

It is Hand pieced and Hand quilted using cotton fabrics and cotton batting. Quilting is approximately 10 to 12 stitches per inch in an intricate floral pattern shown in one of the pictures. The design repeats in each of the large white spaces throughout the quilt.

The rest of the quilt continues with intricate stitching. The bound edge is hand stitched. The quilt may have been started in the 1920's to 1930's, but we believe was finished in the 1950's because of the "little Swiss people fabric" that is pictured in our listing.

According to the Appraiser it is considered "Very Nice" quality. It looks new and unused to us. Beautiful, wire wrap is an art and this is beautifully done Thanks AAAAA+++++. My daughter will LOVE it. I just wanted to let you know that this is a beautiful stone and your wire wrapping is amazing!
