The edge of the quilt has hundreds of the tiniest hand done stitches all around neatly joining the front and back together instead of the typical strip binding. I think some of the prints are old feedsack fabrics and others could be 1950s cotton prints. The front has a yellow background but not all the same color of yellow was used. When you look closely you will see there are different shades of yellow hexagons. The backing fabric is a gorgeous apple green color and the thread used for quilting is green as well.
Some of the stitched hexagons on the back appear to have a slight reddish color bleed around the quilting stitches. Please see the photos, especially photos 6 & 7...They are somewhat evenly spaced out on the back. There's also a few areas of light pinkish orange color bleed/transfer on the front but it's not obvious unless closely inspected. There are a few small frayed edge or corners of pieces and a few loose threads and small pulled threads. There are some spots, please see photos for examples. I tried to picture the ones I found, there may be others that are similar or less obvious. Nothing very large and nothing distracting, not dark, the minor flaws must be searched for! There are some areas where the batting is thin or shifted over and the green color fabric shows through the yellow but not very large and I think limited to areas within the size of the individual hexagons, please see photos for examples.. Otherwise very nice and stunning colors! Please pay within 3 days of the end of the listing. All my items come from local Chicago estate sales and are pre-owned, vintage or antique.
