Vintage Album Quilt, State Birds and Flowers

  

Vintage Album Quilt, IDEAL AS A WALL HANGING, 90" X 74", with hand painted birds and flowers in 99 squares. The birds and the flowers each represent the official state flower of almost every state in the USA. The quilting is hand stitched at 6 stitches per inch in an all over diamond pattern. The border is quilted in a swag and flower pattern.

The batting is light weight. The fabric appears not to be cotton, rather a synthetic fabric that would allow it to be painted without the paint bleeding through to the reverse. Each bird and each flower painted by a talented hand and is labelled with the state to which it belongs. There are hairline cracks in the painted surface on some of the birds and flowers, but the paint is stable and secure. The quilt is fresh and clean, and professionally washed.
