Found an amazing treasure load of FAB Quilts and Quilt Tops on our latest trip thru the Midwest. This one comes from a huge farm estate in Southern Indianaalmost on the KY border. Stunning antique "OCEAN WAVES" handmade quilt. LOVE the deep red border with cinnamon pink and green "waves". Backing is a grey floral.

Dates from the mid to late 1800s. Measures 80 x 80 Very nicely and neatly made. Hand stitched and hand quilted. The quilting is done well and fills the quilt. Binding is turned from the back to front and hand stitched in place.

I have not cleaned or treated this quilt. Fabrics are sturdy and strong.

The red border has a few small frays (see last 3 photos). The red fabric seems to be all the same dye-lot and coloringthe lighting in the photos changed the color in some photos. 2 different double pinks or cinnamon pinks used. Backing looks good with only the binding edge showing a little wear.
