Polly Prior 1851 Antique Trapunto Quilt

  

Antique Star Trapunto Quilt, Handstitched, All Cotton. Red and Green , Hand washed, clean. Lovely quilt in beautiful condition. Few spots on front and back, a dingy faint spot handprint size on one of the wreaths (hard to see). 2 wreaths have initials stitched inside but not quilted around the initials, see photos.

I believe there is another wreath with initials. Red fabric has frayed but the green is in good condition. Two of the borders has mostly green flying geese and the other Two have red and green. One of those borders is a little more frayed than the other see photo. Some of the red on the stars is not too bad. The flying geese and the squares could easily be replace with period fabric. The stars have some fraying. The fraying is not so bad on the quilt that you couldn't go ahead and display as is. It is a beautiful sturdy piece. I don't believe the quilt was used.

The red has frayed and has a few spots but is in remarkable condition. Please ask if you have any questions.
