According to the book, "A Joy Forever, Marie Webster's Quilt Patterns" by Rosalind Webster Perry (Marie Webster's granddaughter) and Marty Frolli, This was Marie Webster's most influential quilt, for its elegant central design started a revival of the medallion style, which had been popular in the early 1800's. This pattern was widely copied in applique quilts in the 1920's and 1930's.The quilt measures 94" X 106" and is in excellent, never washed condition, with the occasional small spot and no wear. There is quilting around and within the applique and in dense diamond designs in the background, all at 6-7 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is solid green, and the batting is thin. The quilt came out of Salineville, Ohio. The LARGE SIZE, VIBRANT COLORS, and AMAZING DESIGN make this vintage COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out!
