MUSEUM QUALITY Vintage 1850's Princess Feather Applique Antique Quilt BORDERS! This MAGNIFICENT cotton 1850's princess feather quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with unusual "wheel" centers, nice background leaves, tri-colored feathers and swag border, and additional sawtooth border. The quilt came out of an estate in central Indiana. It measures a generous 90" X 92" and is excellent condition, with some age spotting in places and no wear. The quilting is SUPERB, with quilting around the applique and in close straight line and clam shell designs in the background, all at an even 8-10 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the front and back are stitched together right at the edge ("knife edge"), and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
