LOVELY Vintage 1930s Handmade SUNBONNET SUE Embroidered & Appliqué QUILT
For sale is this BEAUTIFULLY made hand stitched quilt. This likely dates to the 1930s and has some great cotton feedback prints in unusually good condition. This is in overall very good condition with some small areas of soiling (I have not attempted any cleaning) and one area where the artist appears to have used a fabric with a faint watermark logo which is now visible (see photos).
The colors are vibrant and Unfaded and there are no rips or tears. It is made of the soft cotton used in the 1930s, and it is backed in a soft terry cloth. The Sues have embroidered flower in their bonnets which is s very nice touch! The stitching is done at 7 stitches per inch.
