Handmade Vintage Quilt Dresden Plate Patchwork 1940's

  

This vintage handmade cotton quilt features a Dresden Plate pattern. The 20 cotton petals forming the design are made of printed & solid cotton fabric from the 1940's, possibly 1930's. The colorful cotton petals are hand appliqued to white cotton background and the quilt has lots & lots of tight stitching. (the centers of the flowers are not exact circles, I think this adds to the charm of the authentic vintage quilt) With cotton batting and white unbleached cotton backing.

The yellow cotton binding has been hand hemmed to back of quilt. 65 inches x 78 inches, photos taken on a double bed. I think it will best fit a TWIN bed or full/double bed with dust ruffle, please compare your measurements.

It's a pretty handmade quilt. The cotton is nice & soft with pretty colors, no holes.

The petals that are darkest orange have bled in a few spots onto the white around the, see photos. I washed it in gentle detergent, comes from smoke free home, ready to use. It would also be great for kids or for a "living room" sofa quilt to use while reading or watching tv.
