Hand Made Yo-Yo Suffolk Puff Silver Dollar Coverlet Quilt Bedspread Vintage. This vintage collectible coverlet is made of literally hundreds of circles, called "yo-yo" or Suffolk puffs, each measuring only 1.75 in diameter.
These are then hand sewn to each other to produce the beautiful coverlet displayed here. Condition is Used, but looks hardly used! Perhaps even unfinished, since some edges have what look like incomplete patterns. Personally I think it adds character to the piece! Quilt is in amazing condition.
Very heavy quilt, weighing 5+ pounds using lots of patterns! The hand sewing is quite beautiful on it.Someone spent a lot of time and love on this beautiful museum quality quilt. The coverlet has been in storage for several decades (I believe it was made in the 1930s era) and measures approximately 74" x 90".
I noticed some staining on only one circle, on the back - see close up pic (#6). I didn't wash this. It doesn't have any smells or odors.
