Product Description: Display this wonderful Early American bassinet quilt from the 1800's, possibly Civil War period. This reversible patchwork quilt is hand-pieced and sewn with colors and early patterns from this time period. One side consists of thirty 5 ¼" to 5 ¾" blocks with 1 red inner blocks which add a pop of color.
The opposite side is also made using a block pattern, although a variety of size patches were used, mostly 5 ½" - 6 ¼" with a few smaller and irregular. Warm brown tones with rusty orange-reds and two blocks of light, blue-green make this a wonderful early bassinet quilt from the earlier years. Note : Please refer to "Condition" for additional information. Due to age, this no longer is not recommend to be used as a quilt for children. As found condition - Fair. Areas of wear and damage. Tattered and worn areas on binding.
On one side, six of the 1 red inner squares are missing with the one in the center of the quilt having a hole. The opposite side (with warm brown tones) is in good condition with having only areas of tattered and worn areas on binding. Most product is acquired from auctions and estate sales.
