COLORFUL Antique Handmade New England Country Patchwork Quilt Top, c1920, GIFT
VERY COLORFUL, Handmade Antique "25 PATCH" Patchwork Quilt Top From Massachusetts Estate. DESCRIPTION: A very colorful handmade patchwork quilt top.
Large size, 62" x 75". Consists of (50) hand-pieced blocks (each one with 25 smaller squares), interspersed with 50 white muslin blocks. A nice country design that would look very good in a cabin, a colonial house, or primitive setting. This is a quilt top only.
However, all the hard, time-consuming work has been done.... Requires only quilting to finish into a completed quilt. Good candidate for use with or practice on a long-arm quilting machine or can be hand quilted. This is an antique quilt top, with c. In excellent condition overall, with no holes or damage.
Very tiny age stains on 3 of the white squares, which should come out with washing. I have not laundered this quilt top and preferred to keep it just as it came, "as found", from the estate.
A really nice looking quilt top for display, for use, or for background for a period collection. And of course could be completed into a finished quilt.
Could also be used as a copy pattern for a new one, or even material for craft projects. In any event, a nicely made antique quilt.
