Antique Redwork Turkey Red Embroidered 1919 Quilt Red & White Hand Quilted

  

This is an antique redwork or turkey redwork embroidered penny squares made into a quilt. Measures: 71" long X 69" wide.

Made from unbleached cotton and red embroidery thread. The quilt is hand quilted with many fine stitches per inch, the edges form a scallop pattern and is bound with bias cut unbleached cotton. The binding is hand stitched to the quilt. It has thin batting between the back and front of the quilt. The tag reads: Quilt embroidered and made by Emma Braucher for Bob's crib. Condition: Very good pre-owned, antique condition, no holes, no rips, or tears. There is some faint yellowing on the edges and in the middle fold. This quilt was sourced from a lovely estate sale in Pennsylvania about 15 years ago, it is adorable and a wonderful example of a century old hand-quilted, embroidered, and hand sewn quilt.

It features animals and nursery rhyme characters.
