Antique Red and White Irish Chain Quilt hand made 76 x 86 late 1800's Provenance

  

Handmade Quilt Top W/ Backing Unfinished 70" x 90" Brown Muslin Floral Blocks. Is for an antique, handmade cotton quilt, from late 1800's in red and white in the Irish Chain pattern. Quilt is 76" by 86" There is a lot of hand stitching. A floral theme extends into the white background and extends to the back of the quilt.

A red binding finishes the ends. Quilt has been owned by this family since it was made in Michigan area at least 3 generations ago. Current owner is downsizing as she retires. Condition of this quilt is good. Some of the red fabric is thin and worn and white background shows through.

The quilt is clean and without odors though I find some yellowing on on end of the white. Even with condition issues quilt displays well. Family is downsizing and is unable to keep artifacts of several generations. Please look at all the pictures of this quilt to see details and condition.
