Antique feed sack quilt, hand blocked and hand quilted with tiny stitches, approx 8 stitches to the inch, and measuring 66" wide by 88" long approximately. I bought this quilt with the intention of repairing it, but never got the time.
I was told this quilt dates back to the1930's. Some beautiful examples of feedsack fabrics, mostly pastel colors but with a few deeper colors, too. I couldn't identify the name of the pattern for this quilt, but it is just gorgeous, backed with white cotton fabric and the edges bound with a heavier cotton or thick muslin. Condition - the quilt is very old, and it does have it's faults. Particularly along two edges, the blocks are frayed and torn with the inner wadding having bunched up or shedded, the centre blocks are mainly undamaged apart from one.
It is not in bad shape for its age, and is way to good to be classed as a cutter, it is in very clean condition and doesn't have any staining.
