Antique Cornflower Blue & White Quilt Young Mans Fancy by Hand 1920s Nice Clean

  
Beautiful Blue and White Quilt. All Hand Pieced and Hand Quilted. Pattern / block name commonly called Young Mans Fancy and/or Goose in the Pond. Quilt is clean, with no odors, appears unused as no signs of wear nor fray. It has been well stored for decades. Less than five (5) teeny tiny yellow spots on back (see photo of one). Some parts along the outside borders, the quilter ran short of batting an inch or two short.

Does not detract nor is a visual concern. Cotton is soft yet crisp (similar to line-dried sheets). Batting is lightweight (summer weight) cotton.

Binding was applied by the fold-over method from the backing. Blocks are 11 and set on the diagonal. Provenance is from an estate in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. This pattern and cornflower blue color is collectible and classic. Summer, nautical, and coastal decor. Perfect for a summer home, cottage, beach house, etc. It has been freshly laundered.
