WOW! Vintage antique friendship quilt 1934/1935 56 squares hand made quilted
This quilt is just amazing. The stories that must have been told over it while it was being created.
There are 56 squares - 7 wide by 8 deep. Each one is hand quilted and embroidered.
I love the drastically different styles of each artist involved. The squares measure 8.5 inches each with an additional 2 border between them.
The entire quilt measures 80" X 88". The only place on the quilt that is machine stitched is the finishing touch. The orange seam binding all around is machine stitched. To provide a solid edge that won't wear or fray. I think this has to be a quilt made by a family for a family member. I think the person must have cherished it too much to actually use it because there is no signs of usage. There are "Mom" squares and "Grandma" squares and.
