Lovey vintage/antique 9 Patch quilt--hand pieced, machine quilted. Sashing is a red and blue nautical 1930's print along with some other great 30's prints. Some of the backing is made from old Valier's Flour sacks with yellow printing--I counted printing of 5-darkest printed one is pictured #10 On all of the 9 patch blocks, 4 quilt pieces are made from the same fabric--a pastel pink with pink, red, and white flowers. Quilt has the old cotton batting-not broken. This family farm was established in 1905--way out in the country on gravel roads surrounded by corn and bean fields. Definitely don't come across these old country auctions very often. This quilt was soaked in cold water with a gentle detergent, gently laundered, and air dried. Still has a few spots.
My quilt expert tells me this is acid stain from being stored in a trunk, etc. For a long period of time-pic #11. Anywhere the quilt would touch the wood, this stain is formed. Backside has a few spots. No holes or open seams Measures approximately 79" long x 64". Beautiful quilt/beautiful colors--lots of country blues.
