Vintage Antique Handmade Patchwork Quilt Indian Paisley Floral Shabby Boho Chic
Beautiful vintage/antique patchwork quilt - throw. Large size - 110 inches wide x 78 inches long + 15 inch hem I'm not sure how old this quilt is; it belonged to the grandmother of the lady I bought it from so I'm guessing early 20th century but could be older. The fabrics appear to be Indian cottons in a striking array of stylised paisleys and florals.
It has been used as a door curtain in the past and still has the old fabric rufflette attached. It has a plain backing but no interliner or wadding so it's fairly lightweight Appears to be handstitched; made up of hundreds of pieces, mainly squares approx 2x2 inches with some smaller and larger pieces. Condition is very good considering its age - some gentle fading and softening of the fabric which gives it that lovely homely feel. There are a few squares where the stitching is coming loose, only about 8-10 that I could find which is pretty good given the amount there are! I'm no good at neat, small stitches so would rather leave it to someone more skilled.
