VINTAGE 1980'S GEORGIA Sunbonnet SUE Southern Applique TWIN/FULL Handmade QUILT
========= An Absolute Vintage Treasure ===========. What we have here is a Sunbonnet Sue/Southern Belle VINTAGE heavyweight Applique Quilt, handmade. Vintage 1980's - created in Mexico in the 1980's by a wonderful American woman who at that time, her, her husband and her 3 children were missionaries and she made all the clothing, all the quilts, fabric handmade items - which was her specialty, her entire life until her passing.
This is a beautiful treasure from the past. This Quilt is photographed on my daughter's Queen sized bed, although I would say it is made for a Twin or Full. It measures approx 67" x 82".
We have not attempted to wash this. It has been in storage for several decades. There are a few spots on the Quilt itself we believe are simply water spots that MIGHT come out with a stain remover.{We have good luck with the Shout magic eraser towlettes, they work extremely well} the photos show this. Overall in very good condition, this is not falling apart - it is well made. With a bit of tender loving care it can be restored to it's natural and original grandeur. These Sunbonnet Sue's feature plaid. Allover pattern with a cream color backing and red/blue Americana stripes.
A very few of the Sunbonnet Sue Appliques have a few tiny spots to be repaired, but overall they are intact and very good condition. Thank you and any questions feel free to message me.
