Vintage 1872 Album Style Folk Art Antique Quilt with Bird, Flower, and Star Themes. History: Handmade on January 1, 1872.

Each of the 30 blocks are signed and some are dated. Over eight different family surnames are legible in multiple blocks. Multiple colors and hand appliqué with cotton bedding, plus trapunto, was used to create themes in the blocks. The back is hand pieced.

Themes in individualized blocks include 14 birds, a pair of scissors, tulips, stars, hearts, and baskets. Some appliqué was sewed with black thread.

FHappy New Year is engraved in ink on one block. Lots of details and characters can be found on this one-of-a-kind unique antique piece! Measurements: 100 1/2 wide by 83 1/2 long.

The quilt is constructed of 30 individualized and signed 16 1/2 x 16 1/2 blocks. Condition: good vintage condition, rare piece! It does show some yellow stains across the quilt due to aging and storage, as shown in the picture. Theres one velcro strap on the back for wall displaying purposes.

Overall in good condition given the age and rareness of the piece. This is a heirloom from our family. We tried our best to take pictures to show all the details and stains. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. We hope it will be passed on to another loving family for another 100 years!
