Quilted Eiderdown Laura Ashley Clarissa Roses Beads Vintage Fabric Suffolk Puffs

  

Handmade by me this beautiful quilted eiderdown with Suffolk Puffs and glass effect beaded fringing. Made using fabric from an upcycled brand new Laura Ashley single curtain in Clarissa, duck egg blue cotton lined with a white cotton blend lining. The header tape has been removed (the lining may show some imprints from unpicked stitches) and Laura Ashley blue/clear glass effect beaded fringe added to each end.

I have added 16 handmade Suffolk Puffs made from vintage unused floral fabric all hand sewn to one side with linen thread. (See last pic, knotted thread hidden underneath each one). This is my modern interpretation of the beautiful vintage eiderdowns of yesteryear and rather than feathers this has been filled with a brand new 4.5 tog polyester quilt cut to fit prior to stitching. Washing isn't reccommended, however, the fabric and wadding can be washed on a gentle cycle at 30' but as the beads have been added I would suggest hand wash only.

As with the vintage eiderdowns they are made to fit the top of the bed rather than overhang. That said there may be a little overhang depending on your bed size, please check measurements. Can also be used in the living room kept close at hand to snuggle under on chilly evenings. Please see my other handmade quilts using vintage and new fabrics including more from Laura Ashley. Please note any fabrics that are vintage pre used are washed prior to use and may have small marks and/or flaws commensurate with a past life.
