OUTSTANDING Vintage Flower Garden Antique Quilt SMALL PIECES & GREAT BORDERS! This AMAZING cotton 30's grandmother's flower garden quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with thousands of small hexagon pieces measuring just under 3/4 per side. It measures 74" X 102" and is in excellent condition, with no spots or wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line and ripple designs in the background, all at 8 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched, rolled binding are white, and the batting is thin.
Many of the pieces are "fussy cut, " where the maker placed the fabric pattern (usually a flower) in the center of each hexagon piece (see photos). This SMALL PIECES, GREAT BORDERS, and SUPERB CONDITION make this vintage COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out -- BEST OF KIND!
